I want to thank you for your engagement in the new Knowledge Communities as we've gone through our Beta. Despite a few bugs and hiccups, we can all agree that our new home has more possibilities than ever before. You’ve helped us optimize and stabilize the new site, and I’m happy to say the Beta will be coming to a close soon - January 18th to be precise.
You might be asking yourself, "what does that mean?"
Mostly, it means that all the basic functionality of the site is working as designed. In the next few days we’ll be rolling out a few design elements to improve usability and discoverability. Of course we still have lots of other improvements planned, but for the most part they’ll bring you new features and functions beyond the core platform.
Here's a sneak peek of what the new design changes will deliver:
You'll now be able to find links to important info for our Product Communities right on the home page, and there's a nicer way to view the most recent posts in the community. We're also adding a Most Active Members section - start or join discussions and see yourself on the leaderboard.
From your My Communities list, you can now see the most recent posts for your communities without jumping all the way in to each home page. You'll be able to quickly see if you're missing out on a great discussion and jump right in for the communities you care most about.
Quick and easy access to your settings and profile links without leaving the home page, as well as progress towards your next contribution badge. Take a quick glance over the info, and collapse the dashboard to move it out of your way when you're ready to dive in to the full site.
The end of the beta also means that the Knowledge Community is getting pretty cool! If you are reading this post and you haven't signed up for a community account yet, time is running out. After the beta is closed on the 18th, you'll no longer be able to earn the amazing "Before it was Cool" badge for your profile. Be sure to sign up before January 18th to get this special badge so you can say you were part of the Knowledge Communities before it was cool.
A few more announcements for upcoming Community updates:
We'll be launching some brand-new communities very soon, including focuses on a Geocoding early adopters program, our APIs, and 3rd party data usage. There are also plans to launch a Spectrum Technology Platform focused community, and an EngageOne Compose community. Keep an eye out for announcements related to these communities when they're open for you to join.
I'll also be starting a regular blog series on things you may not know you can do here in the Knowledge Communities. Watch for new blog posts and learn about all the great tools (and some fun stuff) our new site has to offer.
Finally, I’m happy to announce that very soon, we'll be launching a rewards program for community participation. More info will be released on this at a later date, but I'm so excited about this program, I just had to tell you about it now.
Thank you again for sticking with me through our site beta, and I look forward to seeing how much we can all help each other in the Knowledge Communities in 2019.
