    Hi,

I am using MapInfo Pro 17.4 version.

I would like to create a Buffer Zone around a region but when activating the layer I cannot seem to enable this function?

Also I would like to make a Layer Stand out - how can I do something like this (please see image below) so that the Polygon in the selected area (within the black district lines is highlighted where as the surrounding area is less clear)

    Thanks

    Richard

    Richard,

In order to do buffer operation (or any other operation that edits/creates objects) you will need to make layer editable. If you want buffer object to be created in the same layer where original object is, you will make that layer editable. You can do it by using explorer window (clicking on pencil icon next to the layer) or using status bar at the bottom of MapInfo.

You can use layer style override to specify a particular style for the layer.

    Thanks Andrei

OK yes - I will see how it looks and apply to the layout.
