Projection for Greek maps

    I am a user of MapInfo Pro 16.0 64-bit.

In the process of opening a shapefile related to Greek statistics (either by directly opening the shapefile or through the Universal translator) apart from selecting Windows Greek character set we have to select projection.

However none of the options provided seem to support maps of the greek area. Furthermore none of the existing options are referred in any of the EPSG codes referred in the prj file.

The result is that the map is opened and it is correct but in the browser all areas are shown as "????????"

    Any ideas?

Can you share a dataset that you are trying to use?

    Thanks,

I send you in attachment the shapefile I need to open now. But I need to know how to open other relevant files. If it is by updating the prj file I would be extremely grateful if you could send me the modified .prj file

Looks like the problem is with the way you downloaded data from WFS server. Not sure what you used to do it, but you need to make sure that you download it using Greek character set. I downloaded it using FME and table is attached. You can open it in MapInfo Pro.

    Andrei

I provided instructions with screenshots for opening these Greek SHP files in MIPro.
