I am in the process of updating a client from 12.2 to 2018 and was wondering what the key benefits that you have seen for the end user and for the admins?

Obviously this is apart from those documented in https://support.pb.com/help/analyst/2018.2/release_notes/spectrum_spatial_analyst_release_notes.pdf

    Hi George,

I think all the changes are listed in the release notes.

The main benefits I have seen are:
    1. Have some but not all layers enabled in a single map.
    2. Disable InfoTemplate tool for a layer.
    3. Select which queries are linked to a map configuration.
    4. Load rasters that are not in the base map projection.
    5. Define WMS/WMTS services and then reuse them without having to enter them in each map configuration.

There are also some nice features that allow users to save their own map configurations and use SSO.

    Hi George,

good questions. I see these benefits - sorry if some of them are already in the documentation :-)

The main benefits is to reduce time and costs to manage map projects, to save projects, set permissions for data editing, set the primary key of the database View, to manage easier the  users functionalities profiles and the custom symbols, SSO support, now it is possible to have the sub-admin user ... and more

    the main list might be
    - Enabled end users can save a map project as a new project, saving thematic layers created, queries, zoom and center of the map, layers order and visibility for the maps and for the layers in each map folder
    - all the admin users can save the projects and save new projects
    - accessing to the projects using the Project Home is very useful
    - projects settings - is so much easier and faster to use (instead of using the Admin Console)
    - thanks to setting the  users/roles permissions to read, delete, update in the Spectrum Spatial Manager is so much easier to give editing grant
    - custom symbols new management
    - set primary keys for the database view and  create advanced query in SSM
    - Spectrum Map uploader and SSM have now the sub-admin user, and not only the admin user
