Producing an enquiry linked to a defect via the connector

  • 1.  Producing an enquiry linked to a defect via the connector

    Posted 02-11-2020 10:16

We are producing a customer website report it tool which will show the existing defects in Confirm. We are then giving customers the opportunity to 'add themselves' to the defect. We understand an enquiry and customer would need to be created in Confirm.

We can produce the mandatory fields to push into Confirm but has any one tried this or know if this process can work via the connector?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

It is possible to link a new customer to an existing enquiry through the connector, and we have this working for a few web forms we have published.

You can use the EnquiryUpdate request and add new EnquiryCustomer details.

A defect does not have a customer, but if the enquiry is linked to the defect, the enquiry will have links to the customer(s).

Customer updates are sent from the enquiry and not from a defect.

If the enquiry is linked to the defect, you will not need to create a new enquiry. just update the enquiry and add new customers.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Hafezur,

    Thank you for your reply.

We have the new customer / existing enquiry link working and the customer alerts but in this scenario we don't have either customer or enquiry. We are trying to find out if we can create an enquiry and the customer and link it to an existing defect using the connector.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

You should be able to link an Enquiry to a Job, but that would mean creating Jobs for all your Defects and then having to Archive them if they were eventually fixed using another Job.

Maybe all the Jobs that had only been created to represent a Defect could be held at a special Status.

    Hi Liz,

We definitely don't want to create a job in this process, just an enquiry, with the customer which is linked to an existing job.

Guessing this is not possible then?

    Thanks, Laura

    Hi Laura,

Not at the moment I'm afraid, but it sounds like a very good Idea.
