In the UK OnDemand environment, Confirm version 20.00 still uses Active Directory (AD) but instead of having to use AD Manager to create new users, reset passwords and unlock account this can now be done from the User Security in Confirm. Therefore, we removed the AD Manager icon from superusers' OnDemand gateway screen.

This is how to use the User Security screen to do actions you used to do in AD Manager.

    Creating new users
    1. Log in to Confirm and open the User Security screen. On the User Filter set the 'Inactive' dropdown box to both and retrieve all the records.
    2. If your 5-letter tenant code is CHACC, for example, find the CHACC user with the highest number.
    3. Back on the User Security screen use the New button to create a new user and set their username (User Id) to one larger that then current highest CHACC. For example, if CHACC00100 is the highest so far, the new one will be CHACC00101.
    4. Complete the rest of the screen. Rules for the password are the same as when you created users in AD Manager.
    5. Saving the record also creates an AD account.

    Resetting other users' passwords

    1. Log in to Confirm and open the User Security screen for the user in question.
    2. Set the password using the same rules you used when you created users in AD Manager.
    3. You can use the same initial password for all users and they will be asked to change it when they first log in.
    4. If the Sync button on the screen has a red cross after you saved the record, click it to synchronise the data in Confirm and AD.

    Unlocking users

    1. Log in to Confirm and open the User Security screen for the user in question.
    2. Untick the User Locked Out checkbox.
    3. If the Sync button on the screen has a red cross after you saved the record, click it to synchronise the data in Confirm and AD.

    Hi Chris,
We have tried to create a new user this morning through the User Security form but are unable to Sync. When trying to save and sync the record we then got a message "There are some problems with current Active Directory user. Please contact the domain administrator." But we were actually logged in already using one of the AD manager logins that we used for creating logins before V20.
Do our Admin logins need re-verifying in some way?
    Thank you
    Lesley

    Hi Lesley

After having a chat with you I have raised a case for this issue and I will update your case and this thread when we have identified the problem.
