Install a 2nd ConfrimConnect Web Service app

Our IT have been working on setting up a new internal network over the last year or so.
We are working with them to move our Confirm system into this network.
I was wondering if it would be possible to have a fresh install of the R20 version of the ConfirmConnect Web Service
in the new network and have it running alongside the old install which is version 18.2?
Both installs would be on servers with external access, in their own DMZ.
And refer to one Confirm database.

This would enable us to migrate the ConfirmConnect users in batches, get a bug fix on a particular issue in Connect,
and generally stage manage the migration over to the new network.
Does this sound like a good plan?
    Thanks Nathan

    Hi Nathan

We would normally recommend a complete test environment to test a new version and upgrade the live environment once the tests were done.

I will raise a Technical Support case for you so we can look at your question in more detail.

You can set up two different versions of the ConfirmConnect web service to access the same database using a setup like this.

    Server 1*
    Confirm database - v18.2

    Server 2*
    Confirm Client - v18.2

    Server 3*
    Connector - v18.2
    ConfirmConnect web service - v18.2

    Server 4
    Connector - v20
    ConfirmConnect web service - v20

    * The software on servers 1, 2 and 3 can be on the same server but most people have separates servers for each.

On server 4 the registry setting Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Southbank Systems\Confirm.AM.Connector\ConnectorAspNetUrl must point to the ConnectorAspNet.aspx page on server 3 which is version 18.2. The configuration file in the CFGFile field must contain the connection details for the database on server 1.
