Are you getting InstallShield error 1721 when upgrading / uninstalling any of EngageOne :

    • Designer
    • Interactive Editor (ActiveX or Desktop App)
    • Key Map Generator
    • Content Author Admin
    • Content Author Editor
    Here's why ..
The above EngageOne products use a third party installer which installs the uninstall material in the current logged on Windows user's "%temp% directory.

This means that if ANY other user attempts to either uninstall OR Upgrade , this other user will receive the "1721" uninstall error.

Ideally , the original installation user will need to uninstall the existing Designer (or other EngageOne) product first..

I don't have access to the other user anymore , how can I resolve this ?
Microsoft provides a Installation repair tool that allows the uninstall of products which have damaged or missing components.

Use the "Download" link in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article page :
Microsoft Repair tool download (external link)

When you have downloaded and run the tool , select
    1. Uninstalling , when prompted
    2. Designer (or other relevant product)
This will allow you to uninstall Designer or other product and hence allow you to install the later version as required
