Caroline, The only thing I want to add to all this useful info from Peter and Bill is that you mentioned a few times that your date data was in "mm/dd/yyyy " format.  Peter's answers worked because your data is truly in a date file (a very good thing) and not in a string field which some people still ...

I just realized I did not address your other point about the warnings in the log file. I am pretty sure that messages like: Could not download the resource client-12.2.1-ED-en.zip. It may not exist on the server. The default resources will be used. are benign. The code is taking your language setup ...

Worth, I am going to guess that the reason deleting those files fixed your issue is that you may have run the Designer when you had a different monitor setup than when the problem happened. I have seen this before when working in the office with multiple monitors (3 to be honest) and then at home on ...

Miguel, Here's a couple of thoughts and things to try. The answers to each of this might change the next step but just listing them out. First of all to see if there is something that can improve the Live access. I assume you have that .tab file with the connection to the database table. If you can ...

Clearly the first part of my flow, the Read Spatial Data could be easily replaced by a Read from file and a Create Point. I would not be a spatial guy if I did not warn about coordsys mishaps. While not so common anymore when most geocoders return values in WGS84 LL I still see the reversed XY (the ...

If I see this correctly, what you are trying to do is to get the distance between 2 sets of points; that is, to output distances  of every point in table1 to every point in table 2  ( N x M ).  You also have a sorter in your picture but I am not sure of how you want to use that. You also mentioned that ...

Alejandro, Peter's example mapbasic above would be the best thing to show us. It literally just does the download and should have no other overhead. As far as your code, what are you using to read the translate the data (SQL geometry to MiTab)? Are you also using ODBC or possibly something that might ...

When you say downloading in MapInfo Pro, can you be a bit clearer what you are doing? Creating a linked table is the closest thing we have to "download". I will say that one million polylines in a few seconds is pretty fast regardless. ------------------------------ Eric Blasenheim Spectrum Spatial Technical ...

I am going to attempt to change the direction of this discussion a bit. While it is fine to discuss ways in which the connection string or other client side (MapInfo Pro) settings might affect performance, I have these observations and questions: Despite the name of the thread being about Linked ...

Rowid is a bit of an odd pseudo-column in MapInfo Pro SQL.   You can use it in a where clause using numeric operations (select * from table where rowid * 2 < 100) You can use use it in the column (projection list) with no error but we don't put it in the results.  (select col1,  rowId from table ) ...

Chris, I think this might have to do with the definition of the labels. Since you are still on 2018.2 and you say this worked in the older version, what version was that? The way labels are defined has changed over the years and I did notice that there is no label icon on the map you are trying to use. ...

One workaround and is more secure, is to find a simple proxy for the WMTS part. That leaves the Spectrum part secure but the proxy only allows WMTS requests through to Spectrum and embeds credentials that allow the Tile service to work.  It does not have to be admin.  In this case it does not have to ...

Correct. This basically means that you cannot turn off rest authentication for use cases like map tiling and use Analyst with Access Control permissions anymore because, as you said, permissions uses to be handled in the Analyst application and now are integrated in Spectrum Spatial. We will have to ...

Kieran I think I understand a little better now.  I believe that at some time you did have the rest authentication disabled. This is common for users of map tiling including WMTS as many web clients who have minimal JavaScript experience don't need or have the time to figure out how to pass credentials ...

Kieran, Turning off authentication in the spectrum-container.properties means that any user is operating with the permissions of admin. There is not checking of anything. I assumed you wanted to have control over the guest role so I would not do this. I do not have any idea how this could affect WMTS. ...

Two final comments on this. One is that the enlarged bounds can be from something that was never saved. That is, you can create or modify some data than enlarges the bounds.  Then change your mind or change again and then save your tab file. The bounds will probably be the largest it ever was.  So if ...

Matt, This data example exhibits exactly what I wrote about earlier. The overall table bounds are much bigger than the actual data most likely due to previous edits. When I save a copy of the table or pack the table, the bounds become exactly what the query table shows. Are you seeing something different ...

Miguel, There does seem to be a problem with the display of the option to go to the default map centre or enter coordinates.  I looks like the choices are occluded by the keyboard and even with using a smaller keyboard don't allow use of the coordinates controls. Please raise a case with support and ...

Kieran, In Spatial Manager there is a new Permissions tab. Have you checked under any of the projects you say Guest has access to and see if they are listed there? This could be under Folder or Resource permissions. ------------------------------ Eric Blasenheim Spectrum Spatial Technical Product Manager ...
