We've noticed the same thing in the latest version too, possibly due to the side panels having a minimum width.   We're also finding that any long pieces of text in a custom template are 'word wrapped' and splits text half-way through words, no matter how I set the justification: Forty percent of ...

Hi Mike, Further to Neena's response above, you will need to ensure the node in your original highway network that you are connecting your new road to is a start / end node. If you connect the new road to a node that is not a start or end node then RouteFinder won't be able to route using the junction. ...

Can someone advise if it is still possible to capture the on-click coordinates from Analyst? In version 12.1 we have templates that use the captured coordinates to populate web forms and query URL's.  For this I used the (coord.x) & ( coord.y) function. Is there an equivalent in 2018.2? Many thanks ...

Hi, We have recently upgraded to 2018.2 and I can't see where to set the opacity / transparency of the business maps in the Project Settings.  Is this still an option? We don't want to have to go into the project's xml file and adjust the values in there, as Analyst does still honour the settings within. ...

Bill I understand it is supported but I am looking for some support to get started. I was the only GIS person here for 4 years and now I have help! But we are starting to run into each other editing GIS background datasets. We are also looking at bidding for another 811 Call Before You Dig center and ...

In SSA 12.1 when clicking on a grid overlay the default template simply says ‘Grid Cell Value’.  Is it possible to use a custom template as I wish to include a link to an external metadata document, and to also highlight the fact the value is derived and not absolute as it is for our public facing portal. ...

Mark and Tom, Thanks for the reply... Would you shoot me an email to ccampbell@digline.com so I have a way to check in with you? You both have been at this much longer than I have at least on the MI side of things.. Best regards, Craig

Dave – Thank you for the information. That is all I can really ask is to let others know if they want to work together. While MapInfo is a very solid product, the recruiting of new people is tough.. Does PB offer educational discounts? The advent of Charter Schools might be a great place to push this ...

I do both Peter… I have regular data in bound that has to be loaded and update or processes that have to be run on all street data and those are in programs. I know python but I love working in MB. The Excel stuff is data that is highly variable in its quality and it may require a few adjustments to ...

Tom, Yes Quality Control to make sure that attributes for the street, parcel and utility data are consistent. I have created a number of programs for that as well as several Excel MapBasic code generators to copy and paste into the MapBasic window and run. There are probably 12-15 tools I use all the ...

I am an old ArcGIS guy working in a MapInfo Pro only business. All the GIS resources here in Boise, ID are ArcGIS. I am looking for other users in this area so we can support each other and perhaps increase the user base. I work at DigLine Inc which is the 811 Call Before You Dig service for the lower ...

Currently using 12.5 (build 32) because I really don't like the context menu system and the ribbon UI. While I do development work in MapBasic and MS Access, my primary job is production GIS updates to Street, Parcel and some Addressing features. Having the floating tool bars with all tools available ...

Thanks Dave... I really like the MI environment and especially MapBasic for automation and QC tools. It would be nice to develop local resources and even for the future for this company. I will be retiring in 4-5 years (Lord willing) and this business will pick up another GIS position probably next ...
